I'm a huge Fast and the Furious fan. I've seen all of 'em all at least five times (including that one that sucked), I own most of 'em, and I'm stoked beyond belief about the new one: Fast 5.
It's the whole crew, from all of the past movies, and they're in Brazil. And for those who are newer readers, you might not know that I met my wife in Brazil while I was training at Gracie Barra.
Now, nobody get any ideas that I'm any pro at Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I'm not. It was just for fun for a couple years.
But I'm about a 1000 times better after training in Brazil, and it was an amazing learning experience.
So, my wife is Brazilian, I speak Portuguese, and cars + action + Brazil = Awesome.
What Does This Have to Do With Working Out?
I get totally pumped to work out when I watch The Fast and the Furious.
In fact, if I watch any 5 or 10 minutes of the movie, I'm like ten times more motivated.
We all have seen the studies that good music improves workout performance. This is just one more trick to have in your toolbox.
Motivation is a funny thing, it comes and it goes. That's why it usually takes more than motivation to see you through to your goals. Sometimes you've got to work out when you don't want to. But it if you can turn it around and get yourself pumped to work out, it's just way more fun.
So while Fast 5 may be what gets me pumped to work out, you probably have your own things.
If Something Inspired You, Wouldn't You Want to See It Again?
You know, the commercial you saw that touched you.
The clip from the TV show that inspired you.
The Vin Deisel movie that makes you want to go deadlift. Whatever.
Take that movie/tv clip/song/book and milk it for every bit of inspiration and motivation that you can. Use it again and again, every time you need a boost, until it stops boosting you. Then find something else.
Motivation must be fed. It can't be left to chance.
If that doesn't make you want to work out, then tell me what does. Post your favorite instant motivation boost to comments.

don’t you find most of the women in the movie quite soft? (brewster, pataky, gadot). You have posted photos of your clients that are significantly stronger/tighter looking. or maybe they just look tiny next to the rock and diesel 😉
Josh Hillis says
Some of my clients are leaner, stronger and tighter looking. Some of my clients have really similar bodies to the girls in the movie.
And this is a key point: I don’t tell women what kind of body they should want. If they want to look super athletic, we get them looking super athletic. If they want to look like Jordana Brewster, we get them looking like Jordana Brewster.
You can have what ever you want.
I think Jordana Brewster and Gal Gadot look bangin’. The post is relevant because *most* women would be really stoked to have bodies like theirs.

i absolutely agree, they look bangin’. They just look skinny fat (which is not a bad thing for me at all ;))
i am curious though, Is it more work (or at least the same amount) to look like Gal Gadot than i.e. the model you feature in your current post ( https://joshhillis.com/articles/2011/04/the-other-kind-of-fat-loss-workout-that-gets-women-ripped.html )?
