So a few weeks ago I asked for feedback on the coaching group looked from the outside, and I received so much amazing, super honest feedback.
A few changes I’ve made (upgrades!) on the program, based on your feedback:
- Price dropped from $147 to $97
- Besides the focus on accountability and consistency, more in-depth coaching
- I’m going to be adding workouts next month
1) Price Drop
So, the price actually wasn’t a major factor for people, surprisingly. But I was able to restructure my costs to run the program, and I’ll actually make more while charging less, which sounds like a win for everyone to me.
The big thing for me in dropping the price is this: The longer people are in the program, the better they get at getting and keeping results. If people can do the program for 50% longer, then they’ll get 50% better results.
2) More Coaching
So, earlier programs I focused almost entirely on consistency. After all, there’s nothing to what to eat right?
It’s just quantity and quality.
Anything past that is usually media trying to sell you something or marketing trying to sell you a “secret diet trick.” So I’d focused entirely on the logistics – getting the planning, preparing, shopping, eating slow, snack management, that kind of stuff working.
But it turns out I’d totally underestimated people’s experiences with so many different diets, and how confusing this can all be when you don’t do it professionally. So now, I’m spending more time coaching that kind of stuff, and even doing coaching calls whenever needed to get everything sorted out.
3) New Workouts
Ok, this one is sort of for me =)
I’m flirting with the idea of writing another book, and I want to try out some new workout ideas. It’s a little different giving workouts to someone half-way around the globe than it is giving it to my in-person clients who I get to go through the whole program with. So by giving you guys the beta workouts, I get to find out all of the questions I need to answer.
New Habits (this one was in already)
Ok, so this is another fun one. I totally live for experimenting with new stuff to see what’s the most effective.
After all, the only reason I coach habits now is because I tested habits vs. diets so many years ago.
So there are three different kinds of new habits in the program:
- Some habits that weren’t in the book, that I’ve learned from my friends who are habits based coaches, that have been producing amazing results for my one-on-one clients
- More advanced versions of the habits in the book. They all have a second level that I use with my one-on-one clients.
- Some new completely experimental habits I’ve been cooking up in the lab that no ones ever seen. These are just based on research, and you’ll be the first to try them.
4) Open Enrollment
So the group has ongoing enrollment. There’s no deadlines or anything like that. And so far one new person has been joining the group every week. And they’re all doing well with the habits — it literally doesn’t matter where you start.
The number one question I get is “did I miss too much, can I still start now?”
And it actually doesn’t work that way. We cycle through the different meta-habits. So every six weeks you’re going to get a different habit from a bigger meta-habit (in the book I call them strategies).
It’s a six week cycle. And each cycle we work on one habit from each of these three categories:
- Planning and logistics
- Hunger management
- Mindful Eating
And so even though we work on different habits from each category, each time, the most important thing is to working on that category (or meta-habit).
Learn By Doing
We’re really time-efficient in the coaching group. There isn’t a lot to read. You make the biggest difference by going out into your life, trying a habit, and then coming back and working on it with your coach.
And that’s all we do. You don’t have to do it alone anymore.
Become Your Best Version of Yourself
Take a risk, take a chance, try something new. Get coaching. Do the new things in better easier more effective ways. Get totally new results.
The people in the current group coaching tell me that it’s drastically different from what they’ve ever done before, even if they’ve read the book already. Plus they can’t believe that they actually have unlimited access to their coach, and can get any question they need answered, as often as they want, and that all they have to do is ask.
If you want to get leaner, usually with way less willpower and struggle than you’ve ever had.
I often say that there’s no magic to it, but lets get real — compared to what the rest of the fitness industry is selling, consistency and coaching produces magical results.
So if you think coaching would help you get to your next level right now, jump on in. First two weeks free:

P.S. I can’t thank everyone enough for all of the great feedback. I got feedback from long-time readers, new readers, past clients, clients of other people’s coaching programs, coaches. So much great feedback, and I’m doing my best to implement everything I got.
P.P.S. I also learned that a lot of people just didn’t know that parts of the program are based on extraordinarily effective and looooooooong studied weight loss programs. And it those parts of the program seem weird, because it’s the opposite of what everyone else is doing. But it being the opposite of what everyone else is doing is why it works. The parts that are different are literally the key why it works.
P.P.P.S. And I didn’t invent this model, there have been randomized controlled trials researching what kinds of programs are most effective long term. We use that evidence based model. I just need to do a better job of explaining how it works and why. This is the 4.5th thing that’s changing =)
