Ok, so first off – here is the quickest, simplest fix for how to deal with situations where the menu isn't ideal for your diet -
Eating out at a restaurant
Eating dinner at someone's house
Going to a backyard bar-b-que
Or any other number of events where the food they have doesn't exactly scream "fat loss diet"
Here is what you do:
Eat the best choice available
You don't have to eat the perfect thing. You may not have any choices that are 100% awesome.
You may be on a road trip and you pull over at a gas station: The best choice available might be beef jerky or almonds.
You could be at a fast food resturaunt and get a chicken salad.
You could be at a bar-b-que, and the best choice available is hamburger meat with ketchup and mustard and lettuce and tomato, and a salad with Italian Dressing.
At a restaurant, the best choice available might be salmon with steamed veggies. You could even have one glass of wine as your "carbohydrate" with that meal.
Now, you'll notice that most of the choices listed above actually aren't bad at all. In fact, they totally work. And that's what most people find, most of the time, when they're looking for the best choice available – they actually have a choice that works.
But even in the situations that have no protein (like a continental breakfast) you can still skip the croissant and go with the fresh fruit.
Avoid the trap of perfection.
Just go with the best choice available.
The Josh Hillis Nutrition Coaching Audio is the #1 Download at MovementLectures.com right now!
It's pretty cool, considering who's got audios over at MovementLectures.com – it's all world famous strength and conditioning coaches and world famous physical therapists.
Seriously, I'm just a trainer with a blog, and here's all of these really hugely famous and respected coaches (actually, it's totally an honor just to be published next to them). It's really the best of the best of my industry.
So, to say that I'm really proud of having the #1 download there right now, I'm really really stoked and honored.
Plus, people have been saying really great things about it over on my facebook wall – everyone has said that they got something totally fresh and new that they'd never heard about fat loss nutrition before, and that it's changed their perspective on food in a big way.
You can still get it for only $7.95 here:

Hi Josh, I’m clueless when it comes to resistance or circuit training, and I could use some pointers as to where to start. I already am eating really well and am losing weight that way, but I want to get lean and stronger, too. I’m currently pretty weak and out of shape. Is your Stubborn 7 program a good starting place for me, or is there another program you’d recommend for a beginner? Thanks!
