Eating guidelines are a cue to check in with your body, the situation, and your values, and make your own decision
Said another way, guidelines are a structure to learn and practice eating skills.
Eating skills are for checking in about hunger and fullness, making decisions in unique situations, and being clear about all of the things that matter to you in your life (fitness is included, but by far not the only thing).
