What you need to hit your fitness goals:
1.) A Good Plan
2.) Enough Structure to Follow Through on the Plan
That's about it.
If you haven't hit your goals in the past, it's either a problem with the plan, or a lack of structure for following through on the plan.
This year, why not lock up both of them? Get an awesome plan and a killer structure:

I’m thinking of signing up for the Coaching Club, but I have a couple of questions. All of your email updates lately involve video, which doesn’t work for me; I’m much better with written instructions and perhaps the occasional video (even then, I prefer still pictures to videos). Does your support consist primarily of text, or video?
Second, do I have to belong to a gym?
Third, do I have to buy any special equipment? I have some hand weights and a yoga mat; would I need anything more?
Thanks.

1.) Written vs. Video
The monthly workouts are delivered in e-book form – text and pictures.
Videos are mostly bonus workouts, and to explain a few concepts that lend themselves better to video learning.
2.) You definitely DO NOT have to have a gym membership. The workouts are written for someone who has dumbbells.
The only thing that are at all specialized are you’ll need something for swings. That can be a kettlebell or it can be a gripper plate. Dumbbells are ok to start, but eventually you’ll want to move up to a gripper plate:

Really great questions!
