Here is a simple plan to manage holiday events and free days. Believe it or not, you actually get to choose – you just get to be responsible for the results produced from those choices.
As usual, we're talking about total freedom, no guilt, and just purely mechanical ABC meals = XYZ results.
Following this week's theme that Thanksgiving is a free day, lets review your options for between now and the end of 2012:
Like I said yesterday: "Look, I think you can get it. Skip the christmas cookies and all of the crap food that starts showing up around you during the holidays. Save your free days for the big events with people."
You can still get great results eating great 6 days per week and having 1 free day each week.
During the holidays, you can actually choose to maintain, and eat great 5 days per week and have 2 free days.
Or… you can just minimize damage by eating right 4 days per week and having 3 free days.
I don't judge. It's your body and it's your holidays, and you can do what ever you choose. Just be responsible for it.
Just like the time I went back home for two weeks and pigged out non-stop on every kind of crap food I ever ate as a kid. I gained 18lbs in two weeks, and it took me two months to lose it. But… at the time I decided it was worth it, and I was totally willing to pay the price later (taking the two months to lose it).
You can have what ever you want. Just plan accordingly.
It's my recommendation that you plan out all of your free days NOW. Put them in your phone or what ever calendar system you use. And actually choose:
Get Results: 1 Free Day Per Week
Maintain: 2 Free Days Per Week
Managed Fat Gain: 3+ Free Days Per Week
And, as a reminder – if you don't really lock it down on your non-free days, free days are a disaster. Free days *only* work if you lock down the clean eating on the non free days.
Sloppy Eating During the Week + Free Day(s) = Massive Fat Gain Fail
Awesome Eating During the Week + Free Day(s) = Massive Fat Loss Results
It's that simple. Plan out all of your free days between now and New Years, and put them in your phone. Enjoy the holidays!
