This post was inspired by: "Three Reasons Fat May Not Be Your Fault"
It's an article by ABC about how there is some germ in your gut that pre-disposes you to being fat.
Even If It's True…
When I do seminars, I someone always starts giving me the super scientific fat mobilization questions wrapped up in intricate nutrient timing and workout timing schemes…
…from someone who is twenty pounds overweight.
Look, even if that science is true, it doesn't make a difference. You just need to eat less.
Maybe if you have that evil fat germ you need to eat 5% less than someone that doesn't. It's not really a game changer.
So Why Do Journalists Write Articles About Germs Making Us Fat?
Because we love it.
We want something crazy. We love the drama!
Secret Reason Broccoli Is Making You Fat!
Don't you just have to know? What is the reason? Are you poised and ready to throw away all of your evil fat storing broccoli at this second?
Look, no one is interested in an article about broccoli being good for you.
It's boring.
Look, the best fat loss information in the world is probably the fat loss information you aren't reading.
Truth About the Fat Cow Conspiracy
As it turns out journalists aren't actually plotting to turn you into a fat cow – that's just a byproduct of their real secret goal:
To get you to read stuff. Or watch stuff. Basically they just want your attention.
As it turns out, that's actually their job. It's what they are paid to do every day.
Trying to get your attention they create stories that have drama.
About a year ago I got to meet the editor of a major fitness magazine. Really smart dude, who basically told me this: "If your article doesn't have some dramatic tension, no one will read it. If no one will read it, we aren't going to publish it."
He continued, "The balancing act we have to play in the publishing industry is to try and get good information that has enough drama that people will actually read it."
His magazine actually manages to do that.
I'd venture that most do not. Most magazines will take drama over usefulness any day of the week.
Dude, Like Entertain Me Or Something
I'm not knocking any of this. I'm just saying.
If you want to know why there is conflicting information everywhere, this is why.
If you want to know why there is total b.s. information about fat loss everywhere, this is why.
Look, the reason I write about celebrity fat loss routines isn't because all celebrities are fat loss geniuses, it's because I'm totally and completely entertained by celebrity workouts and diet.
It's fun for me.
I'm entertained by celebrity workouts that are smart.
I'm even more entertained by the ones that suck! I love it all.
But I'm also clear about what I'm there for: Entertainment.
Really, I learn what works for fat loss from training my clients. Real people in the real world. If I see something similar to my experience in a celebrity workout routine, I write about it to illustrate the point.
But I wouldn't go to my entertainment as my primary source of information.
I don't borrow workout routines from Bad Girls Club.

It's about the coaching they get on how be awesome fat burning machines the other 167 hours per week!
1.) Three 30 minute phone coaching sessions $150
2.) Six 30 minute phone coaching sessions $250

We all have different metabolisms. I am genetically linked to being overweight, which means I have to watch my food intake very carefully. However, I still remain basically “big” (some may call it big boned). If I fall to a low weight I suffer health wise. Some of us just have to accept that we are designed the way we are and being big (I’m not talking obese here) is just one of those things and modern day fashions have a lot to answer for making us big people feel inferior – we are not….
