Strong And Lean Kettlebell Training

More interviews from the RKC (Kettlebell Instructor Certification) weekend.

Bottom line: Kettlebell training is fast, kettlebell workouts hit all the right areas, and kettlebells work for fat loss.

For the five years previous, I'd been a trainer in a "normal" gym, and I couldn't always bring in kettlebells to use with my clients.

So I tried dumbbells.  And dumbbells work for just about everything except swings.

Since swings are the best thing ever for fat loss workouts, I came up with doing swings with a gripper plate.

My point is this – if you don't have a kettlebell in your hands right now, it shouldn't stop you from doing this kind of training.

All of my books could essentially be called "Kettlebell Fat Loss Workouts Without Kettlebells"

In fact, I was thinking about writing a kettlebell book, but I realized it would look exactly like The Stubborn 7 Pounds or FW4FL.

Be creative.  If you don't have a kettlebell, use a gripper plate.  If you can't do a pullup, do body rows.  If you don't have enough weight to squat, do pistols.  Be creative.  Make it work with what ever you've got.

I love watching these vids. I stumbled across your blog when I first started trying to lose weight and tone up several months ago – I had just spent $100 on running shoes and was convinced that cardio/distance running was the way to go. Thank goodness I kept clicking around your site and read about kettlebells. I was curious, read some more, picked up a cheap one at Target, and the rest is history (I’ve upgraded since then to some nice DD and Ader kbells). I am totally NOT skinny-fat anymore; I’m not bulky; my workouts are quick and efficient. THANK YOU!!!

This is great! My daughters are both figure skaters and have to do a move like this called “Shoot the Duck” which involves being in pistol squat position and sailing across the ice, then getting up. Eventually they will be spinning like that. Your video is great for explaining perfectly how to develop that strength – their coaches didn’t even explain it this well when they were first learning it.

To the commenter before me who said that you didn’t look very muscular, he’s nuts! You just prove that you don’t have to be a gorilla to be strong and fit. Gorillas are way, way overrated.

Great site, love the videos and all the awesome information.

I love kettlebells too and are now the staple of my training routines as they’re so versatile. Who needs a gym when you have a kettlebell.
