Totally Opposite Halloween Advice

I'm going to give you FOUR STEPS to getting wicked hot EVEN DURING THE HOLIDAYS!

Ok, right now all of the other fitness and fat loss experts are telling you about healthier stuff you can give away for Halloween.

And they're telling you about healthy stuff that you can eat on Halloween.

As usual, my advice runs the opposite direction.

My advice on Halloween: Eat all of the candy you want.

Let your kids eat all of the candy they way.

Seriously, eat some freakin candy!  It's the candy holiday!

Here is the thing, one day isn't going to kill you…

And that's the key ONE DAY.

Grub some candy on Halloween, then lock it down November 1st.

If you have left over Halloween candy, give it to someone homeless or to a homeless shelter.

Let your kids eat what ever they've got – stop stealing your kids candy!

Then when they're done with that, they're done too.

If you eat a clean diet most of the time, one day letting it fly is fine.

If your diet is sloppy all of the time, then a full day off is going to show up all over you.

So this is The Stubborn Seven Pounds approach to the holidays:
Four Steps To Staying Wicked Hot Over the Holidays

1.) Eat clean 90% of the time.

2.) Keep a food log all of the time.

3.) Then on days like Halloween and Thanksgiving, eat all you want.

4.) The day after – it's OVER.

The girls and guys with rockstar bodies have a free day – NOT A FREE WEEK.  Give the extra candy away to a homeless shelter!

You should really enjoy the holidays.  And you should have your diet extra tight between holidays.

    Hey Josh,

This is great advice, I really love it, especially the part where you talk about donation. You know, there is no better feeling in the world when you donate or work for charity, you know?

I finally got my webpage underway and will mention you in my diet/exercise philosophy section, as soon as I can get a hold of my web designer to put it up.

Take care, Happy Halloween and know that I am following you on twitter. You can follow me as well, but I am a crazy Obama supporter who yells a lot about it, so people are getting flooded by my craziness…

    Peace out,

    Nina

Hey Josh, Love your blog, you don’t update nearly enough, but each time you do I get a little kick up the butt. I’ve even started a food journal…

Although I can’t say I am a big fan of the give the candy to the homeless. I think they have enough issues without teeth decay and too much sugar on top. Candy doesn’t help.

Not that I think they won’t like a treat, but maybe include some actual nutritious food. Charity should be about helping the needy, not just for you to get rid of crap you don’t want but would feel guilty about trashing.

    Georgina –

While I’ve never been homeless, I’ve been hungry. And when I was living out of my car and hungry, I just wanted something to eat. Anything. A bag of candy would have been like sunshine on my face and happiness all day long. It’s been a decade since I was in that bad of a position, but I still remember that I would have been grateful for anything to make my stomach stop growling.

I definitely do support giving homeless more nutritious food, more shelter, more everything.

Great post Josh. I totally agree with you that it’s fine to pig out for one day. If you have the will to get back on your diet afterwards, then go for it!!!

Josh, I think this is great advice and this is what I do. Treats don’t hurt unless your eating them everyday. Nice to hear a different opinion on the subject.
