Train Like A *Career* Tribute – Hunger Games Workout

Career-Tributes

The "Career" Tribute Training Program is for girls and guys who live in Districts 1, 2 or 4, who train for The Hunger Games full time and have access to what ever they need.  

In the The Hunger Games, that was Cato and Clove (D2), Marvel and Glimmer (D1) and the unnammed girl and guy from (D4).  The Career Tributes have access to whatever they need, workout and training-wise.

MONDAY: Functional Training D2

Deadlifts (Wendler's 5/3/1 template)

Jump Landing Training Squat Position
Jump Landing Training Lunge Position
 

Jump Lunges 2 x 20
Valslide Lunges 2 x 10L+10R

Jump Squats 2 x 20
BOSU Squats 2 x 20

TRX, or BOSU Pushups 5 x 80% of max reps)
TRX or bar Body Rows 5 x 80% of max reps)

Kettlebell Swing Intervals x 0:30 work / 0:30 rest x 15 minutes

TUESDAY: Fight Training

Krav Maga Fighting Class or Kali Weapons Class

WEDNESDAY: Functional Training

50 meter sprints x 4

Barbell Squats (Wendler's 5/3/1 template)

Box Jumps (Max Height) 3 x 5
Single Leg Hops 3 x 15 feet each leg
Side to Side Hops 2 x 20

One Arm Standing (staggered stance) Cable Press 3 x 8L+8R
Tactical Pullups (overhand thumb over bar) 3 x 90% of max reps

One Arm Standing Cable Row 3 x 8L+8R D1
Two Arm Standing (staggered stance) Cable Press 3 x 15

Treadmill Run x 30 minutes

THURSDAY: Fight Training

Krav Maga Fighting Class or Kali Weapons Class

FRIDAY: Becasuse Career Tributes Have Look Hot For the Capitol

Career Tributes are a little vain, hence the beach muscles workout on Friday.  On top of that, they are going to use every piece of equipment in the gym, just because they have access.

At the heart of the workout is going to be some intelligent functional training.  Serious strength training starts with the deadlifting and squating with the Wendler 5/3/1 template.  

All of the running and jumping they'll be doing needs to be prepared for, so they're going to work their way up to some volume on jumps and single leg hops.  

Pushing and pulling is going to be done standing with cables, both one and two arm variations, as they'll need to be prepard and strong fighting on their feet.

Fight training is self explanitory.

Unlike the District 12 Tributes, the Career Tributes take Saturday and Sundy off.  Because they can.

    Nice link to the Dog Brothers. Just finished two day Seminar with Guro Dan Inosanto. I just love the Filipino Martial Arts.

    Not enough; on martial arts days let them take with it some climbing training, and fast swimming classes on the afternoons . On the strength days let em take archery, weapons, surviving classes like igniting fire or traps and snares . Also choose one day off from regular training, twice a month, and give em a marathon hiking and running.
    Twice a year, you skip regular sqedual for two weeks intensive course of some special skill like trans course or camouflage , Anything.
    That will do ?
