What Fat People Can Teach You About Getting Abs

There is a saying that success leaves clues.

So does failure.

People who are overweight have some things in common.

Can you guess what they are?

Here are 4 tips for getting wicked lean this summer, that you can learn from people who are totally overweight:

1.) Fat people eat at certian places.  Don't eat there.

2.) Fat people use certain excuses for not eating right.  Don't use those excuses.

3.) Fat people have reasons they don't like to work out.  Don't have those reasons.

4.) Fat people have a particular way of talking about food.  Don't talk like that.

Sometimes, knowing what not to do
is just as important as knowing what to do

If you catch yourself making the kind of excuse that someone who is really out of shape would make, stop.

Start becoming more aware of what you are saying to yourself and to others about nutrition and exercise.

If what you are saying doesn't work, then stop saying it.

If where you are going to eat doesn't fit your goals, don't go there.

What Would Jessica Biel Do?

Picture someone who has they body you want – imagine what you think they say about food and working out.

Try to imagine – would Jessica Biel make this excuse about dinner?

Would Matthew Mcconaughey make this excuse about working out?

Would Jessica Alba skip doing lunges because she doesn't like them?
(I'll help you with this one – she hates lunges, and she does them anyway)

You are SOO right!! I also hate lunges and squats. But I do them. I don’t think I even do them to the extent that I should be doing them, but I still have noticed a difference in my legs and butt.
as for the food – totally right on!
I love your site and your blunt – but always truthful – comments!!!

Josh, thanks for keeping us all informed, motivated, and focused. The mind is powerful, which can have negative effects too, so it is important that you reminded us to tell ourselves what we truly need to hear. It works!. As someone who is thin, I often let myself eat things that are not good for my body, “because I can”. But when it comes down to it, it is important to look at food as a way to fuel your body and keep you feeling and looking good. And no matter what your size, salt and vinegar potato chips just don’t cut it. When I don’t eat good, I don’t feel good. And healthy food really is delicious too. Josh, quick question….The Stubborn Seven or Fighter Workouts for Fat Loss? I love working out and will get into a great routine for a month and then lets say I go to Utah for a snowboarding trip (amazing), and then I get back and don’t start working out again for a month. I want to be disciplined and feel best when I am. It was so much easier in high school and college with the structure of playing sports! Which one do you think is better to start with? Will I eventually need both? Are the 2 months of workouts in the Stubborn 7 enough to keep switching back and forth with to keep tricking the body? Thanks Josh! I stumbled upon your website a while ago during a google search and have loved it ever since. Now it’s time to have your program be a part of my daily life.

Hugh Jackman is a freak of nature! Another one that you forgot to mention is Ryan Reynolds in Blade Trinity and Amittyville horror. Teach how to get ripped like them! See if you can get ahold of the “300” workout! Keep updating man!

    Yes, this is great advice!

It all comes down to the way overweight people think. Being overweight all starts in the brain. Their particular mindset about food, and exercise is sabotaging them. Just remember, your mind controls your emotions, which controls your actions, which ultimately controls your results.

Follow a good health, and fitness role model like Josh. What would Josh do in this situation?
