You Can’t Trust The Calorie Burn

IStock_000006181042Small

New research is proving what trainers have known for years:

You can't trust the calorie burn estimates you've read about.  And you really can't trust the calorie burn estimate on the cardio machines.

It turns out that some things produce much bigger results than the calorie burn suggested would allow for.

And other things produce much less results than the calorie burn would lead you to believe

Cardio for Weight Loss = Fail

Researchers determine that cardio will make you healthier…  and that it will make you happier…

…But that the "calorie burn" that it produces doesn't lead to the weight loss that you would expect.

In fact, they determined that cardio shouldn't be part of the conversation when discussing weight loss.

They felt cardio should be promoted for health benefits only.

IStock_000007547507XSmall  Weight Training = Much Bigger Calorie Burn Than We Ever Knew

Turns out that we were measuring the calorie burn incorrectly.

Everything you've ever read about "how many calories burned by weight training" were off.

In fact, they under estimated the calorie burn of weight training somewhere in the neighborhood of 80%.

We Actually Already Knew This

Weight Training = Rockstar Hot Body

The results that show up in real life are pretty convincing, and so we already knew this is how it works.

It's just cool to see the research back it up.

What This Means For You

Look, magazines will continue to tell you it's cardio cardio cardio.

Even longtime readers of this blog can still fall in to the trap of believing that more cardio is the answer.

But now you really know better.

Remember to prioritize your time accordingly.

If you've got time for cardio or weights, do weights.

And don't get caught up in your friends talking about how many calories they burned on the treadmill, you know it's total B.S.

I couldn’t agree more. I have more and more customers come back to me and thank me for showing them the way.
Most people focus too much on the calorie burn and with cardio machines it gives people numbers which you and I both know are not accurate.
Anyway, I swear by strength training as it worked so well for me. I am also having more and more visitors to my site come back and tell me about how it has changed their life too.

I see all these people at Fitness World doing these long boring runs and they do not lose much fat. Doctor Al Sears which you can find on the internet has tested Athletes for the most effective way to lose fat and receive many other benefits as opposed to long distance running. Especially when you are older, if you do 30 second bursts that bring you to exhaustion and then walk until your heart beat is normal and then repeat this five times you will get far far greater benefits than any long distance run. You lose far more fat, it stresses your heart and lungs so that they become in older people like that of younger people. Your legs become thicker and stronger because the larger muscles are used. I am sixty years old and do not think most young people can do what I do. I put the stationary running machine to its maximum slant of 15 and run at what is set for a speed of 7.5. Doctor Al Sears has the proof that this is far superior to long distance running.

With any exercise or nutrition program, you’ll probably lose some fat initially, but far too often the progress doesn’t continue or doesn’t come as fast as the person would like because they’re using a temporary mindset. They’re only focused on the burning belly fat in the short term and one specific goal. So they end up switching to something else, and the cycle continues until they’ve become consumed by this cycle of confusion.
