Evolution of a Diet

Evolution of a Diet

From Tracy Reifkind's Blog.  Another great article on how Tracy's diet evolved during the process of losing over 100lbs of fat.  Your diet requires totally different levels of fine tuning at different points in your progress.

She talks about how in the beginning, she didn't need to keep a journal.  She new exactly where all the weight had come from.  She wasn't in denial about her calories – she knew what she had to do.  The food journal became important after she'd dropped a ton of weight, and she really wanted to lean up.  She also touches on that her feelings about food are evolving also.

One thing that's also really cool is that when she really wanted to lean up, it was because she was training to become certified as a Kettlebell Instructor.  Now, if you haven't read my other post on her 100lb weight loss, you have to check it out: Really inspiring: 100lb weight loss. When you look at how far she came, getting certified as a kettlebell instructor (one of the only instructor certifications I know of that has a strength requirement), it's a pretty big deal.  It's a huge evolution.  It's really, really cool.

Mike Lucas did the same thing.  After losing 137lbs (through kettlebell training and diet) he won The Biggest Loser San Diego competition.  After dropping the weight, losing the fat, and getting lean, he became certified as a Russian Kettlebell Challenge Instructor also.  Cool article on Mike here: San Diego Tribune: With a drastic change of diet and exercise, Michael Lucas has left his old body behind

It's a good read.  Always inspiring.  Check it out: Evolution of a Diet
