Perfectionism, Excellence, and Self-compassion

In our diet-obsessed world, perfectionism is often people’s biggest stumbling block in getting the results they want. It absolutely something you need to figure out how to handle.

Diet perfectionism is the practicing of quitting.

Obviously that isn’t effective.

This is an excerpt from the new book, Lean & Strong: Eating Skills, Psychology, and Workouts. Many folks have told me it was one of the most useful parts for them.

This is the heart of the issue I think for so much progress being undone every time I have started something with intention to complete, but find myself a week later questioning what to change when things get hard. Taking myself along the way, not realizing I have to change my mindset to be flexible enough to deal with every day life has been an important distinction I am learning in this book.
